I start every day with one of these – to the extent that I take my ‘mini’ juicer with me when I am away from home! Everyone I have given this recipe to is also addicted.
It’s almost creamy with a kick of ginger and a gorgeous colour. The ginger and fresh turmeric have great anti-inflammatory properties, as do apples. Apples contain pectin, which helps support good digestive health. They are a rich source of phytonutrients and both lime and apple contain vitamin C.
Ingredients and method
- 1 apple (preferably organic)
- 1 lime, zest removed
- 1 piece of fresh turmeric (available from some supermarkets – eg Waitrose) or online
- Thumbnail sized piece of ginger (add slightly more if you like ginger!)
Juice all ingredients, ideally starting with the smallest (ginger and turmeric) to maximise the flavour.
